HOW DO I MAKE SOUND CHOICES? HOW CAN MY LEARNING HELP MY COMMUNITY?

Area of Interaction: Community and Service , Approaches to Learning & Human Ingenuity
Significant Concept: Design Cycle can be used to solve problems
Unit Question: How can my learning help my community? How do I make Sound Choices?
INVESTIGATE: (Write in complete sentences) Identify the Problem
1. What is the problem you need to solve?
The problem that we I to solve is to figure out the best way to teach a sixth grader how to use the design cycle. The method I will use should be able to give the sixth grader an easy hundred when tested on the subject. Yeah, it's going to be that good.
2. How does the Design Cycle apply to the real world?
The design cycle helps us out in the real world by helping us solve out real life situations. We often use the design cycle without even knowing it. For example, even a detective uses the design cycle. First he starts off by investigating the crime scene. Then he designs a plan to capture the criminal. After that he plans out the procedures in order to do so and capture him. Then he actually creates the trap to capture the criminal. Finally, he evaluates his results by finding out if it really was him and how he can use the methods used in the current investigation to use on other investigations.
3. How will this project serve my community?
This project will help the community by helping little sixth graders all over the world to know the design cycle and use it later in their lives. This will also help them get an easy hundred on the subject. And when they get older they will be able to teach others  and help them out with their own situations. This process can be used over and over again and soon everyone would know how to solve their problems in a more easy and organized way.
4. How can my learning help my community?
My learning can help my community by solving problems in a better and more organized way. This will help them by giving them more accurate and better results. It helps them explore many decisions.
5. How do we live in relation to each other?
We relate to each other by being in the same school, being in the same grade level, being in the same class, having the same name, having the same lifestyles, and etc. We relate to each other by having the same similarities.
6. How does this help others?
This help others by exploring many possible solutions and picking out the best one towards their liking.
7. What are the requirements for this assignment?
The requirements for this assignment is a sixth grader, knowledge towards the subject, time, concentration, dedication, etc.
8. What is the Design Cycle?
The design cycle is the process we take to figure out solutions to our problems in a more organized way.
REFLECT on your learning.
Day 2
9. Spend one day experimenting with DESIGN CYCLE your presentation. List five things your learned about the Design Cycle: The Design Cycle is the problem solving method that you have been using, unconsciously, for years. The design cycle is a model and it is intended to be the central tool to help students to create and evaluate solutions in response to challenges. The MYP technology design cycle consist of four major stages. The Design Cycle is general in its approach and is the standard methodology used by software “shops,” and industry.
